Vata, Pitta, And Kapha – Introduction To Body Types According To Ayurveda

The Ayurveda says that our mind-body control our health. The thoughts that we have lead to many reactions in our body. Both mind and body work with each other. Hence it is vital to know them better. Our body has three doshas present which is called Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. But, the one which is more dominated describes our individuality.

How Do We Come To Know About The Doshas Prevalent In Our System?

The Ayurvedic doctors or practitioner( as they are called) identify the dosha and prescribe Ayurvedic treatment according to the same. Some foods are prescribed, while some are eliminated from the diet.

Let Us Do A Little Research On All Three Doshas:

1. Vata Dosha

Vata energy is associated with wind. It manages the body functions which are related to movement. Some examples are circulation of blood, breaths, nervous system, digestion, nervous system, etc.

Some Features Of Vata – Body Type:

A person having Vata has a thin body structure and is active, full of life, creative and eager to learn. On the other side, the person gets fatigued also easily, has disturbed sleep cycle, mood swings, and prone to get worried and anxious.

They are often dark in color, the skin is also dry and resistant to dark circles.

The Vata Irregularity:

In a person who has Vata functioning properly, is often creative, imaginative and bursting with buoyancy. On the flip side, an imbalance can make the person fearful and anxious. Vata irregularity can also lead to flatulence, pain which cannot be explained, frail, arthritis and asthma

2. Pitta Dosha

Pitta is synonymous with fire. It helps in controlling the breakdown of food along with body temperature.

Some Features Of Pitta – Body Type:

A person who has more of Pitta dosha is of medium height, strong, resourceful, vocal, and intelligent. The digestion process of these people is also much better than others. But, they get annoyed easily and also get irritated when provoked.

They mostly are fair in complexion, along with being blemished.

The Pitta irregularity:

A person having pitta in good quality is happier than others, along with being highly intellectual.  An imbalance more often leads to heartburn, rashes on the skin, a disorder of liver and blood, heart problems, ulcers and also get angrier all the more than other people.

Kapha Dosha

Kapha and earth are related to each other. It helps in controlling muscles, fat deposits and bones.

Some Features Of Kapha – Body Type:

These people have a strong and powerful build, and are more often slow, while doing any type of task, have a very calm and relaxed persona. They are slow to learn anything but are bestowed with a sharp memory. They are very affectionate, tolerant, but at many times also possessive, they may not wake up( if the need is), digestion process is also very slow, at the same time they are emotional eating. They have smooth skin, which is prone to get oily.

The Kapha Irregularity:

When Kapha dosha is in right amount the person is full of love and forgiveness. But, imbalance makes fell insure and jealous. It also leads to being obese, asthma, diabetes, depression and at many times even Cancer.
